About Boomer and Silas

Adoption Fee: $100
Treeing Walker Coonhound
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Please meet Boomer and Silas Located in Hedgesville, WV We hope to rehome two male treeing walker coonhounds together. Both are likely four or five years old. It is suspected that both came from the same litter. Please, no negative comments or mad/sad faces, this decision does not come lightly but an unexpected life change has led us to need a new home for these pups. Willing to include sensitive dog food, food/water bowls, two crates, one dog bed, urine eliminator sprays, and leashes. *A little about BOOMER: Independent Responds well to his name Gets along well with Silas (sleeps with him on the couch, in the bed, and a crate) Follows most commands Patient with small children but will knock them over when excited due to size and strength Will stand on hind legs to 'hug' you after receiving affection Cooperates with vet/Petsmart Groomers (anxiousness noted related to environmental stressors) Zero separation anxiety Follows a routine well Treat motivated No longer tries to always bolt out of the front door Will steal food off your plate if the plate is left unsupervised Roams around people that have food (similar to that of a roaming shark) Throws up often. His stomach is sensitive yet he constantly begs for (and steals) table food Still pulls hard on a leash when excited Uses his coonhound whine semi-often Scared of the vacuum Scared of gunshots Scared of heavy rain, thunderstorms and/or fireworks Responds aggressively to outdoor cats but never attacks Responds defensively to dogs when outdoors but never attacks Chews on things left behind on the floor Will stand up on hind legs to get food off high countertop areas Past Medical History: Heartworms (resolved) *A little about SILAS: Independent Responds well to his name Gets along well with Boomer (allows him to sleep on top of him on the couch) but will growl at him on occasion due to being territorial of space Follows most commands Patient with small children but will knock them over when excited due to size and strength Tries to shake paws Zero separation anxiety Treat motivated Loves to nest in blankets No longer tries to always bolt out of the front door Takes pills easily (he thinks they're treats) Lazy, very chill for the most part Sheds heavily Protective of his paws and needs muzzled/medicated with Trazodone when nails are being cut Doesn't respond well to some men (barks excessively, growls) May growl when personal space has been invaded May growl when he doesn't want off of the couch to go outside to pee but he grumpily complies Will steal food off your plate if the plate is left unsupervised Roams around people that have food (similar to that of a roaming shark) Scared of gunshots Scared of the vacuum Scared of heavy rain, thunderstorms and/or fireworks Chews on things left behind on the floor (loves crayons) Still some indoor accidents on occasion Doesn't enjoy the outdoors (will potty quickly and runs back towards door) Past Medical History: Lymes Disease impacting joints to the back legs (resolved) Two medical emergencies (bloody stool from eating something that wasn't food & septic shock from an insect bite) (resolved) History of infected anal glands (resolved) If interested, please private message me.
