Good with Cats: yes Concerns: Resource (food) guarding with other dogs; also guards favorite person from other dogs BIOGRAPHY Meet Heidi! Heidi is a sweet and loving pup. She was surrendered from an extremely busy household with 5 children under 12! Her owners were set to euthanize her when she nipped at one of the boys (did not draw blood) while they were playing. Sophia's Grace Foundation got word of the situation and offered to bring her into foster care. Heidi loves car rides and walkies! Her foster home has 2 older, bigger dogs and for the most part young Heidi has adapted well. She loves playing with one of her foster brothers as they both love to rough and tumble. The oldest dog, however, is very nervous and has gotten into skirmishes with Heidi centered around food. Heidi previously lived with a cat with no reported issues. Heidi does not like a crate but is very well behaved when left alone. She does not chew on anything inappropriate and loves her toys. She loves to snuggle into bed at night and is a great sleeper. She also walks pretty well on a leash although she would do well with additional training. It will be very important for her to understand who she can trust and who is her leader so continued training will be very beneficial. Heidi must go to a dog savvy adopter who is willing to be patient and understand that it will take her a bit to acclimate and warm up to a new environment. Once you win her over, she will love you for life, but she is cautious (not aggressive) with meeting new people. At this time, she is taking Trazadone for anxiety and Apoquel for outdoor allergies. She is up to date on all vaccines. Heidi is fostered in Lewes, Delaware available for an adoption fee of $450.00.
