COCKERDOODLE NEEDS A HERO Harlem is my foster dog. His owner had him since puppyhood, but when she lost her job she had to let him go. He's staying with me temporarily while I look for his new family. It took him a couple of days to learn to trust me, but since then he's been a great house guest! Very well behaved, non-destructive, can be left home alone. He is goofy, friendly, cheerful and loves attention. He likes to go for short walks. Harlem does have two behavioral issues. He does not like to be separated from the rest of the household and will bark non-stop if you try to shut him up in a room by himself--he wants to be with his family members. Second, new people must introduce themselves slowly and let him get to know them. Harlem has been returned by one adopter because he was barking too much. From what they said, I think there was just too much activity at the apartment complex he was in, and too many visitors at the apartment. I think he needs a quieter home with less traffic. Please keep in mind that Harlem has lots of fur and will need regular grooming. I am having him groomed for the first time in a few days. I will update this posting when we see how he does with the groomer. Harlem is 5 years old, and weighs about 35 pounds. If you are out of state, I can help with transportation up to 400 miles. And if you'd like more photos of this gorgeous guy just let me know.
