COCKAPOO NEEDS A HERO Harlem is my foster dog. His former owner purchased him when he was a puppy (he is now 7), but when she lost her job she had to let him go. He's staying with me temporarily while I look for his new family. Harlem is an anxious pup. New things scare him! It took him a couple of weeks to learn to trust me, but since then he's been a great house guest! Very well-behaved, non-destructive, can be left home alone. He is goofy, friendly, cheerful and loves attention. He likes to carry his toys around and he loves to go for walks. He needs an adopter who can go slow for those first couple of weeks and let Harlem get to know him. He will do best in a low traffic household with no children. Harlem tends to be a bit barkey, but we've had two sessions with a professional trainer and I am learning to correct him. We've gotten to the point where I can hold up my hand and say 'stop' and he will stop barking and sit down. He's a smarty! Harlem takes Prozac and calming supplements to help him manage his anxiety. These are inexpensive. Please keep in mind that he has lots of fur and will need regular grooming. He is 7 years old, and weighs about 35 pounds. If you are out of state, I can help with transportation up to 400 miles. And if you'd like more photos of this gorgeous guy just let me know.
