I have been fostering Luna for the past 7 months. A little about Luna - she is a 1%BD%BD year old Rhodesian Ridgeback mix. She is spayed and up to date on shots, on heartguard and flea/tick meds. She is house trained & able to stay in a crate for short periods of time (does have a little separation anxiety - but this is improving). Over the past few months, she has really blossomed into a more confident pup. We're getting her used to a crate and being left for longer periods of time. Overall, she is a sweet dog. She is super smart and learns very quickly - she now knows sit, stay, down and gives her paw. We're working on the 'come' command as well. She walks well on a leash (I use the gentle leader) but does get a little excited when she passes other dogs or sees a bird/squirrel/etc.). I walk her every day for 30-45 minutes - she has no issues with bikes, runners or others walking near her. She is food motivated. She has been friendly to all the dogs she's met but plays a little too hard for most. She doesn't quite get cues or understand boundaries. She would probably do better as an only pet to start, or in a home with a larger dog that can stand it's ground, and definitely no cats (though, I'm sure with training, she could learn to co-exist). I would also recommend children over the age of 12 (due to her high energy). She has had two one-on-one sessions with a trainer to help with her progress. Luna is sweet dog that loves to be around her humans!!
