About Amber

Amber is an alluring 5.5-year-old Australian Cattle Dog with a heart as boundless as her spirit. Adopted in 2020 to be a companion on outdoor adventures, hikes, daily rural walks, and also to embark on the world of agility competition for which Australian Cattle Dogs are known to excel. Several wooded acres and fenced yard afforded her a safe environment where she was queen of all she surveyed, demonstrated her athletic prowess and excelled in informal agility activities. A sudden unforeseen change in circumstances dictated relocation to a multi-unit dwelling with a Home Owners Association that requires dogs be leashed at all times. Sadly, but not surprisingly, Amber has not adjusted to the lifestyle changes that come with living in a condominium and the apartment-like dwelling life has proven to be an unsuitable environment for this high energy girl. She needs a forever home filled with love, activity, and adventure. A farm would be ideal place for her. An alternative dream home would be an active family who enjoys outdoor activities and has a secure, fenced-in yard or conversely a home with significant acreage where she can explore to her heart's content. This loyal canine companion is ready to join a family that can match her zest for life and provide the engaging lifestyle she craves. A family that understands her need for physical and mental stimulation will be the perfect match. An environment where she can burn off her energy and engage in stimulating playtime will bring out the best in this spirited girl. She's a quick learner, loves her herding ball; likewise ever ready for a game of catch and retrieving. She's good with children - neighbors' little ones knock on the door asking, 'Can Amber come out and play?' Knows the following commands: sit, stay, lie down, come, go bed, high five/shake, get bone, get toy, jump and walks well on leash. Amber thrives as the shining star in her home and prefers to be the only dog in a cat free household. She's always ready for a run, hike, or playtime in the great outdoors.
