CAVI is a 6 year old, 13.1 pound Cocker Spaniel Cavalier mix LOCATION: Pensacola, FL NEEDS: Fenced yard, another dog about her size preferred. She loves attention and to be told she is a good girl. She has a very waggy butt when she is excited! She attaches quickly to whoever holds her and scratches her little head. Cavi is a sweetheart but she needs to get into a home where she can start to relax and be comfortable. She has had puppies before and has been hoarding a favorite squeaky toy like it's a puppy, probably due to her anxiety being in a new home and around new people. She's been a little protective of the toy against the other dogs too. She will hide somewhere if you let her and needs a little bit more socializing. Cavi seems to be good with other dogs but is still a little unsure around the dogs in her foster home. She would probably be best as an only dog or with a dog her size or bigger. We do not know how she would be with cats. She can be a little food protective so, to be safe, no younger kids for her. Cavi is doing well with potty training as long as she is taken out every few hours. She is not leash trained and needs a home with a fenced yard. Right now she's still a little unsure of the change in her life so she is quick to come inside where she feels safe, although she will do a zoomie or two as she heads for the door. She has a good appetite and her favorite person will be the one that gives her treats! At night, Cavi is sleeping on a dog bed in the bedroom but she would be fine in the big bed and it likely would be her preference. She has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, spayed, fecal tested, heartworm negative, has had a 12 month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral issues are only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. Most others we will consider within a 5-hour drive. We do not ship or transport our dogs. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility. Our dogs live in private homes in and around the Pensacola area until they are adopted.
