Baltimore, MD 1-year-old Teddy was found as a stray and brought into the shelter by a Good Samaritan who reported that people in the neighborhood were abusing him. Shortly after, Teddy was adopted. Unfortunately, he was returned after just four days due to behavior in the home, which included reactivity towards strangers, possible resource guarding, and biting multiple people (to note: no bite incident ever drew blood or required medical treatment). The new adopter did, however, note that Teddy did give warnings prior to each bite. This little guy wasn't allowed to decompress at his new home so he could feel safe. Instead he was passed around and put into stressful situations that caused a few incidents. Teddy has been stressed and frantic overall when he first arrived at his foster home, but has been fine after a few days of decompression. He enjoys cuddles with his foster Mom, getting belly rubs and being petted. In addition, he has been fine with the other dogs in his foster home but can be a little bossy around them. But that is typical of the Chihuahua breed who think they are big dogs with big egos. Teddy is house-trained and crate-trained. He enjoys going for walks but needs a little more work with leash-training. He will sit for treats. Teddy weighs 11 lbs, he is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.
