About Pete

Adoption Fee: $250.00
German Shepherd / Catahoula
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

'My name is Pete! I am about 4 years old and 53 lbs. My foster mom scooped me up from a shelter in Gallup, where I had been found running the streets. I was covered in ticks and had a bad ear infection in my left ear. She took me to the vet and now I am all healed up! I currently live with foster siblings, a pitbull and a cat. I am not aggressive towards them at all, but I do like to chase things that move (like birds and rabbits). I think I'd do well with a sibling who likes to play! I ride well in the car (I'll hop right in the backseat and simply look out the window or lie down on the seat) and I do great at leash walking! I never tug. I like hikes and runs and when it's hot, I get in the water to cool off! Overall, I have a very mellow demeanor and am low energy. I like to lay down where my foster humans are and watch and listen. I have never been around children, although I may do well with them. At night, I have learned to sleep in a crate without whining! I've had two accidents in the house, but I've learned since then to potty outside. I am still a little wary of some strangers, but am learning quickly that all humans aren't bad. I've had a very rough start in life, so would love a human family to show me love and a place where I belong! I'll be a loving pup in return! Adopt me!' PACA is a Foster-Based Rescue with no shelter. We have adoption clinic on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month from 11a-2pm at 6300 San Mateo (along the grass next to Academy Rd) in the southern end of the Spouts Market parking lot volunteer staffing/weather permitting. We can also make arrangements for a Private Meet-and-Greet with the foster parent and your household with approved applications. You can complete and easy online application here: The $250 adoption fee covers S/N, microchip, vaccines and heartworm/tic borne illness testing.
