About Chocolate Chip

Ms. Chocolate Chip has come a long way since the day we rescued her! She was found extremely emaciated on the streets of Flint. Upon arrival we thought it was just starvation, but that wasn't the case. She actually couldn't process the proteins in her food properly, so could not absorb any nutrients going through her body which left her in a debilitating state. Through all the tests & treatments Ms. Chip kept her winning demeanor, as you can see by her endless smile in most of her pictures. She has a strong will to live & overcome her issues. She has successfully gained 15lbs with the help of a prescription diet. We have spayed her & now she's ready for someone special to love her in her golden years! The ideal setup for Chocolate Chip would include- -A home that is either fenced or leash walk only. When Chip is outside she's not the greatest listener & could wander off. -A cat free home & kids over 10 -Chocolate Chip will require a prescription diet from a vet. Her body is unable to break down proteins properly, so the food is especially designed for her situation. This is necessary's for her to thrive. She also takes a supplement for arthritis.��%BC -Don't let Chip's graying muzzle deter you. Although we don't know her exact age, she has a lot of spunk and enthusiasm! She gets along well with her foster brother, who is a Labrador as well. She enjoys zooming around the house with him & cuddling with her foster mom. She is also crate trained. There's nothing more rewarding than adopting a senior dog! Although your time with them may be limited, it's so heartwarming to see them to the ends of their lives. They are incredibly grateful & loving for everything you offer them.
