About Task

Adoption Fee: $350.00
Lhasa Apso
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

Look at this pretty girl! TASK is an 8 year old, 10.7 pound Lhasa Apso who was found as a stray. She was microchipped and we were able to locate the owner who decided to surrender her to us. LOCATION: Pensacola, FL NEEDS: We would prefer a home with a fenced yard and believe she would enjoy having a small doggy friend but that is not a requirement in the right home. *If you are interested in meeting or adopting TASK you must first submit an ADOPTION APPLICATION using this link- https://form.jotform.com/232395363383057 or by filling out an application on our website- aplaceofhoperescue.com* Task is a sweet girl that loves to sit for hours in her person's lap or play with other dogs in her foster home. After she was found in someone's fenced yard in pretty rough shape, we were asked if we could take her for a stray hold. She was microchipped and we were ultimately able to connect with the owner-who lived in Miami. We found that Task had been given to a relative who gave her away to a friend and we aren't quite sure what happened from that point to the time she was found, but it seems clear that she was not cared for. The owner listed on the tag spoke to both the relative and the friend and decided the best thing to do was to give her to us so we could get her to the vet right away and find her a new family. Task is looking for a home where she can be a special lap dog. She loves her lap time! She is definitely a people pleaser and enjoys wiggling and wagging her tail in pleasure when you call her by name. She is friendly with everyone and comes when called. She has a tiny bark and uses it to greet her family when they return from short trips outside the home but is calm and quiet while they are gone. She has excellent house manners. Task plays well with the other small dogs in her foster home and would like to have a furry friend, but she enjoys one on one with her person and would be fine as an only as long as she doesn't spend a lot of time alone. We have not had her around cats or kids and aren't sure how she would be with either. Based on her personality we think she would be good with older kids who are familiar with small dogs. Task is pad trained (her owner told us she had never been outside when she had her) but will also do her business outside. She really enjoys roaming around her fenced yard and will play chase with the other dogs while she is outside. We think that a fenced yard will be best for her safety and happiness. At night Task sleeps in a fluffy dog bed in the bedroom but we know she would love to curl up with her people in the big bed if given the opportunity. She has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, spayed, fecal tested, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. When we had her spayed, she also had a mammary tumor removed and got a dental. Task is very ready to find a new family who will love her forever! *We are located in Pensacola Florida. Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral issues are only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. Most others we will consider within a 5-hour drive. We do not ship or transport our dogs. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility. Our dogs live in private homes in and around the Pensacola area until they are adopted.
