Beauty's only skin deep? Not with Dot! Her uniquely colored coat is just an extra layer of charm on this delightful 2-year-old rat terrier, who is a beautiful blend of sweetness and energy. Dot's playful nature will have you laughing as she runs after a ball. In fact, as long as you're home most of the time and always ready to throw that ball, Dot would be delighted to be an only dog. But if you're not, she would enjoy having a canine companion close to her size (12 lbs.) as a playmate. Although she has the stamina for a 2-mile walk, she's happy with shorter, more frequent outdoor explorations (which also help her earn top marks in house-training). On those walks, Dot's busy neighborhood can offer distractions, but she's fine-tuning her leash skills and learning to take things in stride. Any children she meets are OK, but their small dogs? WAY better! Dot's sweet, serene side is equally impressive. She loves to cuddle and fits perfectly into any lap, making her the consummate companion for quiet nights at home. At bedtime, she'll sleep through the night in her crate or with you if allowed, and during the day, she can be crated for short periods with little fuss. Dot also rides well in a car inside her crate, even for long drives. Highly food motivated and an eager student, she has learned 'sit' and how to use a sandpapered board to file her nails.
