Already removed off website but still alive- Tuesday deadline! Foster and rescue needed asap. Please see videos in links below SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA (S CAL)- ID #905460 -'PITA' (AKA WINSTON) AT SAN DIEGO HUMANE SOCIETY EMERGENCY - 5/28 DEADLINE - RESCUE ONLY - ALREADY UNLISTED, BUT STILL ALIVE. NEEDS FOSTER & RESCUE, BUT WILL RELEASE TO ADOPTER W/ WAIVER ADORABLE CREAM CHOW X BOY IN NEED OF A CHOW SAVVY FOSTER AND RESCUE ASAP - WHO CAN HELP? PLS CONTACT ROBIN FOR HELP OR WITH INTEREST EMERGENCY!! Please help us find a chow savvy foster (or foster to adopt), as well as rescue, or adopter (with waiver) for this dear boy who the shelter has named 'Pita' (AKA 'Winston' ) after he was brought to the San Diego shelter by a Good Samaritan who contacted us for help. Apparently, he was dumped and seen roaming for over a month. He is already unlisted (and still alive), but still there!!! Although understandably shy and scared at first, the finder who brought him temporarily home said, 'He is good with two of our female dogs, doesn't seem to bothered about our 4 horses or 52 chickens. He is very unsure of people, hasn't shown any aggression towards people but definitely prefers to keep a distance. Panicked when a leash was put on him in the kennel we were able to get him in.' Per the shelter: 'Here are a couple of short videos of Pita at the kennel front. When I first approached, he was laying on his side and lifted his head when he saw me approach. I was crouched down sideways facing to the kennel front and then sat quietly. He remained in place and kept looking in the opposite direction while I was there.' https://youtu.be/gPfkgl2CFeA?si=t6JFrA9rEUA4k35S https://youtu.be/UhR1Uw5G64w?si=bA86KZcFcWWVYXWs The finders also let us know he laid down calmly as the shelter scanned him. Despite all of this, the shelter had made him Rescue Only meaning he is not adopted through the shelter, and can only be saved by a rescue group. Of course, rescues need a foster and a place for a dog to go! If you are interested to foster or adopt this deserving boy who shouldn't now die at the shelter, and have prior chow or foster experience, or helping in some other way, please contact [email protected] or Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network asap who can try to pair fosters with a willing rescue group. If you are a rescue and can help, please contact the shelter directly by calling 619-299-7012 or emailing [email protected] and reference ID 905460 We will be posting updates, more pictures and videos on his facebook page at: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10165434726113125&id=783968124&mibextid=cr9u03 Note: to view contents of links you will need to copy and paste each one separately into your browser.
