About Roux

LOOKING FOR FOREVER HOME I'm foster mom to this beautiful, athletic Rottie/Staffordshire(?) girl. Abandoned in Houston, Roux was very submissive and friendly, with a painful eye condition, genetic entropion eyelids. Unusually clean and healthy for a stray; HW negative, no worms, no fleas; just a painful eye problem. She presented as social with loose dogs and cats in the area. She wasn't house or command trained; likely dumped by a breeder because of the genetic eyelid condition. She is now vetted, microchipped, spayed, and eyelids surgically corrected. She is thankfully no longer in pain and her personality and confidence have blossomed! Roux is 1-1/2 to 2 years old, 52 lbs. and loves walks, car rides, zoomies, treats and toys, hugs, snuggling and sunning. She sleeps all night with us, a cat and dog. She is now house and crate-trained and uses our pet door 24x7. Roux has been positively adult, kid, dog and cat tested in my 24x7 care. She's very cat-curious and will chase them if they run. She pesters them, but only wants to play. She's learning to stop with a firm No! She is less rambunctious when regularly exercised and would benefit from an experienced trainer. She's very amusing, playful and active and has an adorable range of sounds, from a bird-like twitter to an exasperated sigh when she doesn't get her way. She's an excellent guard dog.
