About Hardee

Adoption Fee: $300.00
Chihuahua mix
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

HARDEE is a 19 month old, 17.2 pound Chihuahua mix pup who was found as a stray, although we later found out that he had been abandoned by a homeless person. Hardee is a wonderful dog - with his person. Whoever adopts him will never be alone, he will stick to them like glue, and he is a one-person dog! With his person, Hardee is kissy, cuddly, and sweet. He is always happy to see his foster mom and relaxes comfortably when she is out of the home, secure in the thought that she will be coming back for him. However, he is reactive to both visitors and strangers to his home. He may initially be friendly, but he's always protective and on high alert. While we do not know for sure, we believe this has something to do with his prior living situation. One other thing that may be due to his prior lifestyle is that he has bad storm anxiety. Hardee is 100% housebroken and loves his walks when it's cool enough. He has good energy and prefers to go on a walk than do his business in the yard (but he will). He can get along with other dogs that are his size (he doesn't like big dogs) but would be best as someone's one and only best friend! At night, he sleeps in his dog bed in the big bed or on his own side and loves to give his foster mom a good morning cuddle when she wakes up. Hardee has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, neutered, fecal tested, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. MORE about HARDEE: A fenced yard is a must. Only dog. No kids. Not cat tested. Housebroken!
