About Sparky

Sparky is a healthy 9 month old, 55 pound black lab mix. He is up to date on all of his shots, but has not been neutered yet, as we were advised by our vet to wait if possible until he is at least a year old. We have been keeping him ever since his owner left him in a parking lot back in March. Our intention was always to find a good home for him knowing that we were not in a position to keep him permanently. He is a really smart dog and loves to play. He has quickly picked up several commands. Unfortunately he is a little anxious when it comes to other dogs and people that he doesnt know. His first reaction is to bark/lunge and that has been a challenge when trying to take him for a walk in our very busy neighborhood. Fortunately we have a big backyard he can play in. Additionally, Sparky does not get along with our aging cat - it appears he just wants to play but she doesn't want anything to do with it. We know there is the right home out there for Sparky and we want to help him find his forever home for him. Please reach out if you are interested in meeting Sparky or know anyone who would be.
