About Jasper

Jasper and his littermates were born to a mom that, unfortunately, had a very bad uterine infection known as a pyometra. She had to be taken into emergency surgery to save her life and the puppies were brought into foster at 6 days old. We had neonate fosters bottle feeding them around the clock until they were fully weaned. Jasper is a very sweet, lovable guy that likes to snuggle, although he is now getting too big to be in your lap but is content to lie next to you - usually touching you. He is very smart and learns things pretty quickly. He's very observant, so you need to watch what you're putting down and where you're putting it. He will very quickly go and grab it to examine it for himself. (LOL) He is good with other dogs but is still learning that cats don't like to play like dogs do. He has improved with the cats, but sometimes gets excited and forgets himself. Jasper still needs some socialization with people. He is still nervous/afraid when meeting new people. Giving him lots of treats is helping him to learn that strangers aren't so bad. Jasper is crate trained. Jasper is almost house trained. He is learning to pee outside and is almost perfect about pooping outside. When he pees inside, he is pretty good about peeing on a puppy pad. Once he gets the hang of letting his people know that he needs to go out, he should be all set. Jasper would do best in a home with another dog that likes to play. He is very energetic and expected to be around 85 - 95 lbs when full grown. Jasper is ready to share his love and snuggles in his forever home. Will it be you?
