About Cha Cha

CHA CHA is a 5 year old, 7.9 pound Affenpinscher mix who was surrendered after the death of her owner. LOCATION: Pensacola FL NEEDS: Fenced yard preferred. The family tried to keep her but their homes were not suitable for her so she came to us to find a new home. Cha Cha is very friendly and affectionate. She loves to give kisses and will snuggle with you under a blanket on cool mornings. She is such a happy girl and runs to meet her foster family when they come home. She can be protective of her person with the other dogs and needs to be reminded sometimes that she's not the boss when she's on a lap. Cha Cha adjusted to the 7 dogs in her foster home by curling her lip to let the others know to give her some space and now they all get along just fine! We think she would enjoy another small dog as a buddy as she has started playing with the smaller dogs in her foster home. She would probably be fine as an only dog as well. She won't be a good fit with bigger dogs or little kids but older kids who are familiar with small dogs should be fine. We have not had her around cats to know how she would be with them. Cha Cha is great with house breaking and knows how to use the doggy door. If she can't get outside to potty, she will use a pee pad. She is way too little to be outside unsupervised and her foster mom makes sure the doggy door is closed when she cannot be with her. Cha Cha gets a little anxious in the car and pants a little, but we think that is because she isn't used to car rides. She has good house manners and doesn't get into any mischief when left alone. Cha Cha likes sleeping with her person in the big bed and has never had an accident. She will need help getting up and down off the bed though. She has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, spayed, wormed, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. When we had her spayed we also made sure she got a dental so her teeth are nice and clean! Cha Cha is a good little dog who will be great addition to almost any family! *We are located in Pensacola Florida. Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral issues are only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. Most others we will consider within a 5-hour drive. We do not ship or transport our dogs. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility. Our dogs live in private homes in and around the Pensacola area until they are adopted.
