About Pepper

Pepper , Female, Spayed 4 years old D.O.B 12/22/2019, Australian Cattle Dog. She is on the smaller side maybe 35 pounds. Negative for heart worm. We have had Pepper since she was 12 weeks old. She is very loyal and smart. She is familiar with Goats and Chickens . She does well with other dogs , but it depends on the dog. Pepper likes the be the Dominant Dog in the pack. She is very curious about cats. She does well with children, but I recommend older children. We currently have an 18 month old, and as hard as we have tried (with both Pepper AND our Youngest) , she just cannot be trusted around him. She loves him , very much, and he loves her , they play fetch together etc. But she has displayed some behavior that makes me uncomfortable. Nipping at feet is one thing, but snapping at faces cannot be tolerated. My oldest , who is 2 1/2 is special needs. And she is wonderful with him, and extremely gentle. Pepper is a wonderful protector of her family. **Weird quirk that she has..she's weird about boots/stomping your feet. She hates it, and will bite your shoe. And if you have a new guest, she will definitely nip at their shoes. But once she is familiar with them, she leaves them alone. ** It is safer for both Pepper , and our son if Pepper finds a new home where she can be herself. With all that aside , Pepper is wonderful. * She is house trained AND crate trained . * She walks well ON and OFF leash * She is great for baths , whether in the tub , or with the hose outside. * She has a stomach of steel (she is a trash bandit if given the opportunity) * She is a fantastic helper in the garden * She is content inside , or outside (but prefers to be wherever you are) * She is very well behaved in the car, and is comfortable being buckled up for safety. * She knows basic commands and how to'Speak' . * She is very intelligent, and slightly sneaky. Pepper is current on all shots . She will need her Rabies in June. There will be a rehoming fee, along with references. I want to make sure she goes to the right home, so I will ask a lot of questions , and I hope that you will ask just as many. And if Pepper turns out to not be a good fit, I would ask that you CONTACT me first. And I will gladly come and pick her up.
