About Hank

Meet Hank, a super sweet and happy Great Pyrenees mix from Hanson, MA! This 3-year old boy likes to go for long walks and swim in the ocean. And he's a health nut! He loves fresh veggies, especially tomatoes and cucumbers. He lives for belly rubs and ear scratches, and can amuse himself with toys. Though he enjoys an active life, he also likes chilling out. He is just as content being mellow and laying by your feet or on the couch. Hank is a big guy at 85 pounds, but he's all legs! Expect that gorgeous coat of his to get lots of oohs and ahhs. Hank is a gentleman who respects his home, is good with house visitors, and enjoys the company of other dogs. He is a thoughtful dog who has mastered the art of personal reflection, a.k.a. 'Me Time.' He prefers to eat alone and take naps in peace. Hank is all about r-e-s-p-e-c-t (four paws up, Aretha!). Like all of us, Hank has some quirks. When out walking, he is not fond of people on bikes, kids on scooters, and anything that moves quickly. High value treats can redirect this behavior, but it's important to be vigilant because he has nipped when overwhelmed and earlier in life he bit a stranger (the person was was ok.) Hank has a wonderful trainer out of Westwood, MA who is available for questions and is open to working with the new family. He said Hank has a huge heart and is a quick learner. In simple terms, Hank needs someone as smart as he is! Hank will do best with an experienced and patient leader who will make mutual respect and trust a priority. In return, Hank will give 100 percent! A fenced-in yard is highly preferred so Hank can run and play off leash (and chase bunnies!). Older kids 14 and over, but dog savvy. Hank likes other dogs, or could be your only pet. No cats or young children.
