Oreo is our two-year-old purebred AKC foster Portuguese Water Dog. We are in the process of a sudden move and need Oreo to go to his forever home as soon as possible. He is an absolutely amazing dog looking for an active home. He is great with other dogs, though he gets a little rambunctious in his effort to go meet new doggy friends. He is amazing with all kids! He is great on walks and runs and loves any and all outdoor adventures such as swimming, hiking, boating, etc. He loves the water! He does not run away and is very responsive to coming when called. He lacked training as a young dog, but he has come so far since we started fostering him! He now knowns sit, down, shake, and stay. He learns very quickly and is eager to please. He is crate trained and sleeps amazingly well in his crate every night (he whines a little at first but settles down well). He is large for a PWD at around 60 lbs. He is very solid and strong, so he will need an owner who can work with him on pulling on the leash. He is a foster dog, so we dont know much about his past other than what his previous family told us. As a purebred AKC PWD, his previous family wanted to get some of their money back, so he was $2500. We are asking a fraction of that at $1000 as we are looking for a PWD experienced, active, gentle, and loving home for Ozzie above all else. He is not a barker or a whiner and is a very well behaved dog. He will come with a collar, leash, blanket, toys, any remaining food, and a training vibration/stem collar (not shock). His previous owner was not gentle with him, so he does cower when moved at suddenly or quickly, but he is overall not scared or nervous around people and is a happy, confident, snuggly dog! He is very well groomed and had his last vet appointment December 2023. He is neutered and up-to-date on all vaccines. Reach out if you think you would be a good fit for Oreo!
