****NEEDS FUREVER HOME*** Currently in Boise, ID Introducing CHESTNUT!!! He is a 6-month-old (DOB: ~8/8/2023) boxer-shep mix with soft short hair who found himself in an overcrowded rural shelter before FFAR found a foster home for him. CHESTNUT LOVES foster furry sibling Ollie and is warming up to his foster family and making huge progress every day with his original timidness. Before being rescued, he had not yet seen the best side of humans. CHESTNUT is super smart and learns quickly, picking up obedience commands like 'sit' and 'come'. He is food-motivated to learn more. CHESTNUT sleeps through the night without whining or having to potty (he's currently sleeping on foster's bed). Potty training is going well. From a recent sleepover: 'He's respectful of other dogs boundaries and is the perfect balance between play and mellow. He settles so easily and wants to curl up with you. He shares treats, bones, and toys with other dogs so beautifully. He takes a minute to warm up, then his spicy personality comes out and he is so stinkin funny.' CHESTNUT loves spending time outside playing in the yard (see videos). CHESTNUT would do well in a furever home that includes another dog to make him feel comfortable and show him the ropes.
