About Liam

Liam is a super sweet 1 1/2-year-old rat terrier with striking green eyes and a host of endearing traits. Liam loves other dogs and loves to play. He gently takes treats from your hand, and he'll 'sit pretty' for them, i.e. with front paws lifted. At mealtimes, he'll do a Iittle dance in happy anticipation of what he's about to receive. Along with all that sweetness comes some shyness, and when he barks at someone new, it's a pretty big bark for a smallish 22-lb. fellow. However, he'll warm up quickly if you're patient and don't get in his face. He would do best in a home without little kids, who might have a hard time respecting his personal space. You should live close enough to his foster home to make several visits so that he won't feel at all shy about moving in with you. Liam has good manners inside and outside the home. He'll sit nicely and stay (almost always). He knows the basics of politely walking on a leash and doesn't dig holes in the yard. He loves car rides and makes a great passenger. He's house-trained and he'll sleep in a crate if you so desire. However, since he's extremely adept at burrowing under the covers to cozy up to you or at lying on the pillow just above your head, he thinks you'll prefer him to be in bed with you.
