About Lily

To meet LILY and be considered for adoption submit an ADOPTION APPLICATION by going to the Applications page on our website: www.aplaceofhoperescue.com LILY is a 2 year old, 8 pound Chihuahua mix who was part of a hoarding case LOCATION: Pensacola, FL NEEDS: Belly rubs! Lily is a perfect lap dog. She is a little timid and shy but also sweet, affectionate, and cuddly with a happy full body tail wag once she knows her person. She absolutely loves belly rubs and loves following her person around. Lily is good with other dogs and loves to play and wrestle with her small puppy foster sister. When she needs a break from her, she will chill on the couch or nap in an open door crate. She has not been tested with cats, large dogs, or little kids but does very well with the neighbors 9-year-old daughter. Lily really loves her person and does have a little bit of separation anxiety. When her foster mom leaves for work she will sing the song of her people for a little bit, but she's not very loud and does stop and relax after a short time. She tends to eat her food quickly sometimes and tries to eat her foster sisters' food too. Easy fix, feed them in separate places. She would probably benefit from a slow feeder bowl. Lily does very well with her house breaking, even when left alone for longer hours, as long as she is on a schedule. She walks on a leash very well but is not a fan of having her harness put on. Her favorite place to sleep is next to her person in bed, but she will also sleep in her crate or on the couch if preferred. Lily has had a wellness check at the vet, is up to date on shots, spayed, fecal tested, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. She is such a pretty girl! *We are located in Pensacola Florida. Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral issues are only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. Most others we will consider within a 5-hour drive. We do not ship or transport our dogs. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility. Our dogs live in private homes in and around the Pensacola area until they are adopted.
