About Leo

Leo is about 1 year old, rescued from an Amish puppy mill. He is a sweet, gentle boy with humans, loves to be outdoors and would make an amazing guardian/guard dog. He does bark, but only when he actually hears something - at about 90 lbs, he makes you feel safe. We adore him and it's incredibly hard to rehome him, but he doesn't do well with our other dogs - he has resource guarding issues (food, toys, his humans, everything!) and we have some small dogs so it's become a dangerous situation. He is needing vaccines and neutering - when we rescued him, he had a respiratory infection so the vet would not vaccinate him until he was completely recovered; he grew so big so quickly and now has a lot of anxiety about leaving the house. He is gentle with humans, loves to give the 'pyr paw' and have belly rubs. He would make a great companion for a family with a big yard and no other dogs. Great Pyrenees often have joint issues, and he does sometimes limp - we were told this could just be from his rapid growth and it will resolve in the next year, or could be a genetic issue. Giving him joint supplements is a must. He is all white with a badge on his right eye and little eyeliner on his left - - piggy eye! He's a very good boy and needs a good home.
