About Stella

We are pursuing dog lovers because we sadly need to rehome our wonderful dog Stella, a beautiful German short-haired pointer. She was hit by a car in May and has an injured leg. We have pursued every avenue we could to heal her these past months and it has been a large emotional and financial investment and we are no longer able to continue doing so. We are hoping there is someone out there that would be able to care for her needs better than we can. She has had surgery and been in rehab. Her hind right leg is still not healed. She limps and uses it about 30% of the time. Other than that she walks on all fours. The latest news is that she would need to have another CT scan to reassess where things are and pursue further treatment options. It could be that she just has a limp indefinitely or there might be something else going on. She is fully grown at 50lbs and will turn 2 in March. She is spayed, fully vaccinated, potty trained, crate trained, great with dogs, accustomed to kids and a great family dog other than her injury. Unknown really how she would do with cats. She is very sweet, eager to please people, and highly food motivated. She is fairly well trained (still in the puppy stage) and has moderate to high energy for a GSP. We would love if the new owner has had some experience with this breed and has land or space for her to run and get her energy out. She is not a sedentary dog, she really does need exercise and an active lifestyle.
