About STEWIE

***NEEDS FOSTER or FOREVER HOME*** Currently in Boise, ID STEWIE has been without a home for almost one year! This compact 35-lb, 2.5-year-old special needs (blind) Patterdale terrier named STEWIE is SUCH a special dog!! STEWIE packs a LOT of personality into that tiny little body. STEWIE LOVES LOVES to play with toys, but they have to be up to the task (think extreme chewer toys). STEWIE loves to snuggle and gets SO excited when his favorite humans are around!! STEWIE gets around GREAT and his lack of sight really doesn't slow him down much. He is an energetic happy playful snuggly little man. STEWIE would do best as an only dog, but with slow intros, he could do well with a medium-sized doggie friend. Because STEWIE's desire to play with EVERYTHING coupled with blindness, he cannot live with any small animals or small children. His eyes, at the time didn't need any medical intervention, but sadly, that did not stay true. He developed glaucoma and they did become painful. We initially tried to treat but sadly, we realized that he would do best and would be most comfortable if we just took those painful eyes out. We have a giant thank you to Stella's Shelter Fund for helping little Stewie feel so much better! A giant thank you to Pet Health Clinic for taking such good care of him and helping him have a less painful future.
