About Charlie

Adoption Fee: $25
Great Pyrenees / German Shepherd
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Just over a year ago one of my daughters friends were coming home on the Fourth of July and on the side road that they were traveling down found a puppy in a crate with a bag of dog food and a dog bed along with his bowl and leash. He was soaking wet and covered in his own feces. They took him home and cleaned him up and called us because they knew we had other dogs. They had a little Yorky and he was already a big puppy at the time. They were worried that their Yorky was going to accidentally get injured by this big playful puppy. They had talked about dropping him off at a shelter. One of my husband's friends owns an animal rescue so I told them that I would take him, and then I would reach out to them to see if they have the ability to take another dog. They did not have space at that rescue so rather than send him to the shelter where he could be killed we decided would keep him and try to find a home for him. He is up to date on his shots, and is microchipped. However, we have had a lot happen recently. My oldest daughter (12y/o) has seizures and has had some issues, but the biggest problem is that my youngest daughter (10y/o) in the past few months has been diagnosed with two significant autoimmune disorders. We have been in and out of the hospital with her getting her taken care of. Currently we have 2 older dogs at home, one that is a special needs dog that is deaf and blind. Unfortunately it's just become too much for us at this time with everything going on. Charlie is a sweet boy and is up-to-date on his shots and micro chipped. He is a puppy and has more energy than the other dogs and it's just not been fair to him and it's becoming too much for us. He is now about 15 months. We also had a DNA test on him when we first got him so we knew what kind of boy he was going to be and we found out that he is 53.1% Great Pyrenees and 29.7% German Shepherd 17.2% super mutt. If there's anyway you can assist us we would be grateful. He is a really good dog he loves the water, he is crate trained, and toy driven. He deserves way more than we can give at this time which is why I am reaching out. %BD%A0 Please let me know if you can be of any assistance. We would be very grateful.%BD%A0
