She has demonstrated a high level of on-leash reactivity which has further redirected into frustration when being leashed in-kennel, often biting and tugging at the leash. Daisy Maisy has started to focus on her kennel walls causing herself harm due to stress as well. Medically she is underweight and recently recovered from CIRDC. Handler tossed treats and while she was eating handler was able to leash. When exiting her kennel, she hard pulled towards neighboring dog. Handler was able to have her exit the room, once out she pulled towards the door to the same kennel room. Handler tossed treats away from the door and she followed. Once on the street, she walked ahead of handler with a soft body, when called she would stop and sit to accept a treat. She allowed handler to pet her chin and head. Upon returning to her kennel, she again pulled towards the neighboring dog and handler tossed treats into kennel. She followed in and handler was able to remove leash without any further issues. 12/22/23: Daisy is spinning in circles, pacing around, and jumping high in her kennel when hearing the neighboring dog barking. She does not stop this behavior when handlers approach. Eventually once circling to the front, she takes high value treats like ham. She will grab and tug the leash periodically when no treats are given. Handler is able to leash her while a second handler feeds her. She is removed from kennel where she attempts to cage fight, lunging, growling, and barking. She is then taken outside for a street walk where she walks nicely alongside handlers. She will lean against them for petting and nudge their hands. She also catches treats when tossed. Daisy is returned to kennel where she attempts to cage fight again. She is placed in kennel without further issue. Summary (3):: 12/21/23- Daisy is pacing and jumping in her kennel when handlers approach, she is jumping up to the side of her kennel where her neighboring dog is barking. One handler tosses treats and other handler was able to leash her. When exiting her kennel, she tried to cage fight with the dogs in passing. When exiting the room, she would try to pull back into it. Handler pulled her away and tossed treats to distract her. When passing the other door for the kennel, she again was trying to pull into the room and barking. Handlers pulled her away while tossing treats to redirect. Once in the elevator, she became softer. While on the walk, she accepted treats and she went to the bathroom. Handler soft spoke to her and she would follow handler, allowing them to pet her. Upon returning her, she would cage fight and when returning to inside her kennel she was hard barking and pulling towards the neighboring kennel. Handler tossed treats and used some force to get her back in her kennel. She was unleashed without further issue. 12/21/23 ACS staff reported that they were unable to remove Daisy from kennel due to leash biting, grabbing and tugging into kennel. 12/21/23: Daisy continues to grab the leash in kennel and pull it in.
