Pearl came to us in October, pretty terrified. A lot of fear and mistrust layered in there from whatever she experienced before getting to us and we have been slowly, gently, patiently trying to let her know that it is safe. And she is making great steps! She will let the staff pet her and give her love now, and she will leash up and go for a walk. She is getting more playful and has shown some interest in other dogs, and even really liked one of our other ones here at the shelter during some play time recently! We are proud of her steps and feel like she is ready for a home with a human who knows she still has a road ahead of her. She deserves the time, she needs to feel safe, and she will need time and patience from her adopters in order for her to trust and thrive! Pearl will also need room to run and exercise, important for her breed mix. She is a 4 year old Shepherd/Malinois/Heeler mix, about 45 lbs, and on her way to a better life. Interested in meeting this great girl? Our hours are Tues-Fri 11-4 pm and Sat-Sun from 1-5 pm. We are located at 2825 Sherman Ave in Monte Vista, and you can also reach us at (719) 852-3366.
