Nina is a 5 yo Shih Tzu weighing 14 #. She was taken to Bexar County Animal Control with a 15 yo male. They were both taken from a horrid / abandonment situation. The condition they were both found in was absolutely sickening. They required shaving under anesthesia. Once Poquita Paws received them we completed their grooming. They were evaluated by the vet. Nina had a dental losing several teeth. Initially she was terrified of us and everything around her. She found some comfort and companionship with the 2 dogs sharing her area. Her behavior from the beginning when anxious or excited is to spin. She always spins clockwise. Her episodes of spinning have definitely decreased. She can now come to you in a straight line and easily wait to be picked up. She loves lap time and cuddling. When there are changes in her environment she may spin more and will have some housebreaking relapses. She does not like to be kenneled but will tolerate a small area. Car rides are a lot of fun for her. Leash walking is ok as long as you can untangle the lead a number of times and avoid her if she decides to do her drum majorette twirling routine. Nina will definitely do best in a quiet home. She is definitely not aggressive but do not recommend children. As you can see by her pictures, she loves to chew her bully sticks. Nina tolerates her grooming and baths without any major complaints. She is spayed vaccinated microchipped and has correctly had a dental. Adoption fee is $300.
