About Angel

Introducing ANGEL! Angel is a 4 year old, 7.12 pound female black and tan Yorkie LOCATION: Pensacola FL NEEDS: Snuggles and attention. HIGHLIGHTS: Very loving Velcro dog, housebroken. Angel came into rescue because her owner passed away. She is the sweetest little girl! Angel loves to sit and snuggle with her foster mom, and thoroughly enjoys belly rubs and naps. After some initial shyness, she attaches quickly to her person and wants to follow them everywhere, even in the shower! Some of that is likely due to losing her owner but she's not the kind of dog who's going to be happy spending long hours alone. When she first came to rescue, Angel would growl at another dog who wanted to come up on the sofa when she was sitting with her foster mom, but after some gentle correction she has been better and gets along with the other small dogs in her foster home. She recently started to play with toys and another little dog and would probably like a playmate. We have not had her around cats or kids. Because we were told she has a history of resource guarding we will not consider small kids just to be safe. Angel is house trained but will use a pee pad if she can't get outside. She walks well on a leash and a fenced yard is not required for her. She likes rides in the car, but always wants to be on a lap. For safety reasons, her foster mom has been working with her to stay in her car seat. At night, Angel sleeps on the big bed. She has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, spayed, fecal tested, heartworm negative, has had a 12 month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral issues are only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. Most others we will consider within a 5-hour drive. We do not ship or transport our dogs. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility. Our dogs live in private homes in and around the Pensacola area until they are adopted.
