***PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY BEFORE INQUIRING*** Currently in Southwest Boise, ID Meet MAPLE, she is a ~6 or 7 year old purebred Pembroke Welsh Corgi. She weighs 23 pounds. MAPLE was brought into rescue in March after being found as a stray in Utah. She is a happy, spunky, active girl who loves to play fetch and tug-of-war and is very food motivated. MAPLE will chase kitties and while she does get along with other dogs, she will be much easier to manage as an only dog as she does not like to share her toys, food, or affection. Since March, MAPLE has been extensively checked out by vets and specialists and it has been determined that MAPLE'S unique appearance is due to an autoimmune condition called Masticatory Muscle Myositis (MMM). She has undergone treatment for MMM and is currently in remission. Her prognosis is good as she has likely had this condition for years with no other symptoms aside from the loss of muscle mass in her head. MAPLE'S vet care is covered for the duration of her life, so please do not let her diagnosis dissuade you. MAPLE'S ideal home has a securely fenced yard or someone committed to taking her on frequent walks, and someone willing to play fetch with her. She would do best in a calm household, potentially with someone who works from home or with a retired person/couple. MAPLE is potty trained (she may need a refresher as she settles is) and kennel trained. It is important that MAPLE has routine vet visits and that her new owners are committed to her care. When she is first transitioning to her forever home, it will be important to coordinate care with the rescue (medication tapering, dental scheduling, navigating her grant). MAPLE is fully vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped and she comes with vet records. **IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN MAPLE, PLEASE CONTACT US FOR AN APPLICATION** Thank you for considering this sweet girl!
