About Trooper

Meet Trooper!! Amazing dog has been excelling with his training. He's been seeing a trainer weekly and tries so hard to be the best boy!! He's super smart and receptive to training. We found out this sweet boy had been at the local shelter for 7 long months. We decided it was time he found a home to call his own! He came home with us and is now looking to find his new best friend. Trooper is a 1 year old male pitbull type mix. He weighs 68 pounds. He has been neutered, microchipped and updated on vaccines. He is Heartworm negative. He is the perfect dog for a fun loving family. He is super goofy and happy. He has two modes, chill and relaxed or wild child fun guy. He's so loving and wants to please his people. He was chained outside his whole life prior to going to the shelter but has done so well with all of his training. He's amazing with potty training. He uses the doggie door or barks by the door to go out if it's closed. He needs some work with leash walking but is doing much better. Hes good on car rides and took a road trip for the holidays and did wonderful. He does well crated but will whine a bit when first put in, this only lasts a few days in a new place. Trooper is fantastic with other dogs. He absolutely loves to play with dogs. He's also extremely good about other dogs not liking him. He does not fight back when snapped at and is very submissive in that regard. Hes much calmer with a laid back dog and much more hyper with a wild playmate. He's never been around cats. He's extremely people friendly and would do great with older kids. Hes energetic and jumps up a lot so small kids would not be the best fit for him. Trooper had some skin issues when he arrived but he has been off the meds for a few weeks and looks much better. He gets some red bumps under his thighs at times but it's very minor. He has a very calm and chill side but also a higher energy side. He does much better with proper exercise. A fenced in yard would be required for him. He needs that outlet to run multiple times a day. A tired dog is a happy and well behaved dog! He loves to cuddle and follow you around. He's a pure sweet heart. Nothing but love and fun with this guy. Trooper has not shown any food, toy or treat aggression with humans or other dogs. He's extremely loving and sweet. He loves toys and any activities you will do with him. He is still in the chewing stage. You will want to crate him when gone and provide him lots of toys and bones to choose from when he's out. With proper exercise and a bit more training he will learn what he can and can't chew on. This guy has such a great personality. If you're looking for a fun loving and snuggly dog then he's the one!!
