About Buster Brown

Buster Brown is a 9 year old, 10.2 pound Shih Tzu mix LOCATION: Pensacola FL NEEDS: Fenced yard, calm home. HIGHLIGHTS: Friendly, relaxed dog. Buster Brown was found as a stray and never claimed. His finder was unable to keep him and asked us if we would take him in. Buster is a super sweet, laid back little guy with a cool personality. He likes attention and belly rubs and stands on his back legs (adorable) to get pets. He attaches pretty quickly to a person and is excited to see them. Buster isn't really a cuddler but he does like to be near his person and is happy to hang out close by. He is that that great age where he is still playful and does zoomies on the couch then likes to relax and nap in a comfy spot. Buster is in a foster home with a lot of other dogs and likes his space away from them. He gets along with them though and would be okay with another dog with a similar personality and he would also be okay as an only dog. We have not had him around cats or kids but think he'd probably be fine with either. Since he hasn't been tested with kids we would prefer a home with older kids if there are any in the home. Buster is working on his house breaking and would do well with a schedule. He likes to go outside and explore using the doggie door. Because we don't know how he came to be a stray we would prefer a home with a fenced yard. Buster will sleep at the foot of the bed or in a dog bed or on the sofa. He appears to have had an injury to one of his eyes some time ago that left him without sight in that eye, but he doesn't have any issues with it. Buster has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, neutered, fecal tested, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral issues are only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. Most others we will consider within a 5-hour drive. We do not ship or transport our dogs. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility. Our dogs live in private homes in and around the Pensacola area until they are adopted.
