My name is Smokey. I once had a home, but my owners had to move and left me behind. A nice lady that lived across from us saw them leave me. She began to put food out while she reached out for help. I was scared outside but hid out underneath the crawl space or in the bushes until feeding time and waited for help to come. St. Francis took me in, and now I am ready for my new life. I am a small guy at 7 lbs. I enjoy being around other cats, but also okay if it was just you and me. I love to be near you and enjoy being held. My guardian angel would be attentive and keep an eye out if I don't feel well. The vet found tiny holes in my renal proximal tubules. These tubules help reabsorb glucose and release it back into circulation. Because of these tiny holes, some glucose spills out into my urine when I use the litter box. It doesn't hurt but it means that I could get urinary tract infections more often than other kitties. I am otherwise very healthy and active!
