About Barry

We got Barry when he was puppy from San Diego Humane Society. We are rehoming him because we are not giving him the life he needs anymore. It was not easy to come to this decision, but our family circumstances have changed and now we are moving out of the state. He definitely needs an active home with someone who can cater to the needs of a border collie. He has only lived in our two bedroom apartment. Daily walks and occasional trips to the park and beach. During the day he would have access to the whole house, at night only one bedroom. When we are not home we would kennel him. He is very affectionate and loving. He really enjoys being with people and recovering attention. He has moments of high energy play but can lounge on the couch as well. He has a big goofy side especially in the morning, he likes to sleep upside down and will wiggly around on the bed. He can be a jumper and loves to give kisses. He is great with other dogs, he enjoys playing with balls and will follow other dogs around when they are playing fetch. Sometimes he will try to steal the ball but he mostly likes to chase them while they chase the ball. He also loves to roughhouse with our other dog. He can play a little rough but is really good at matching the other dog's energy. He is good with cats. Occasionally he will gently play with one of our cats or sometimes chase one when they get the zoomies but he is easy to call off or redirect. He generally leaves the cats alone. He mostly stayed away from our kid, he will tolerate them nearby but not directly in his space. We have always noticed that he moves away from our children when he is uncomfortable.
