Miss Philly (our name) wandered into our yard a few months ago in a sad state, with no collar and no chip. She was very young and going into heat, and we posted to find her owner but no one responded. We had her vaccinated & spayed and the vet thought she was about 6 mos old. She loves people and dogs, both large and small - and we thought we could give her the perfect home although we also have another cat. Although we've tried every tip on integrating cats - including pheromones, baby gates, separate rooms and even working with a cat behavior specialist, she will relentlessly chase any other cat into hiding and will not let them back into her space. We've been trying our best to make this work for 6 mos now, but it's been very hard on our resident cat and we've come to the conclusion that Miss Philly needs to be an only cat in a loving, responsible home. She is smart and confident, perfect with the litter box, loves to be brushed and wants to be with people and dogs - just not another cat. I will only adopt her out to an owner who is experienced with cats and will commit to keeping her as an indoor cat. I would also ask for references to insure that she is going to a good home.
