About Damon

Damon is doing his best to be brave everyday, and we feel he deserves recognition for that. He's a skittish and nervous boy and unfortunately the loud, chaotic, and often stressful shelter environment is not helping with that. Damon is tense and, while we're doing our best to help him adjust, he doesn't seem to have spent much time around people before coming into the shelter. We're working on getting him to love love! But it's a slow process to build trust. When people come to visit him Damon's nerves make him curl up in a corner of his kennel away from them. Petting him is more stressful than it is enjoyable for him at the moment. He doesn't know what to make of it and it's all so overwhelming here. We're waiting patiently for the day he relaxes and learns to trust people. The leash is another stressor for him. He's got lots of practicing to do! What this cutie really needs is someone to shower him with so much love that he just can't help but accept it. We're sure with time and patience he'll blossom into an amazing love bug! Damon is a 1YO Lab mix who came into the shelter as a stray on 10/27/23. He weighs 23 lbs.
