About Roxie

Roxie is an almost 2 year old pit mix. She was adopted from a shelter about a year ago. She has been through a 4-week boot camp and additional in home training, is crate and potty trained, is very loving, cuddles and even smiles. However, she gets jealous and is aggressive towards other dogs. She has never directly attacked a human that we are aware of, but we have been injured with scratches and surface bites when separating her from our other dog. We had her vet checked to make sure there were no medical reasons for her aggression. The vet was unable to find anything wrong and put her on anxiety medication hoping that would help, but it hasn't. Unfortunately, after a year of trying to find solutions (and failing) we have come to the conclusion that she needs to be in a single dog home, possibly with no children. She is also a chewer. We have contacted several shelters and rescue organizations, including the one where she was adopted from and they either can't take her or have told us they will euthanize her due to her past aggression. We don't want this for her as we firmly believe she would be fine in a house with no other dogs. That being said, we can't keep her with our son and other dog in the household. Please help us find her a situation where she can thrive.
