About Bella

Bella is a smart affectionate six year old who just wants a family to take care of. She is completely house trained, has no behavior problems like chewing, excessive barking, taking food off the table, very calm when relaxing with family, especially likes to sit or lie down right next to a family member. She has some basic obedience (with treats), learns fast with daily practice, kennels easily and will stay in kennel overnight. Once bonded with our family, she decided she must protect us against most visitors. No biting, but the loud deep bark and lunging meant our foster care license agency said she had to go. We paid for her to stay in a boarding facility till Jan 15, but if no placement by then, she will have to go to a shelter. In a normal family, one could just have her stay in a kennel while having visitors, work on training to tolerate, or upon getting high value treats from visitors she becomes very friendly. She would need a strong partner for walking, a large yard, or possibly use of prong or electronic collar, as she displays the same lunging toward passerby's. For a good adopter, we'd be willing to travel up to a 100 miles for meeting and provide a metal kennel in her size. She shouldn't be left outdoors continuously though, as she becomes very bonded to family.
