About Selah

Adoption Fee: $50
Pit Bull / Australian Shepherd
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Selah is a 45 lb. half American Pit Bill and half Australian Shepherd mix. She was born May 1st 2018, is fixed and had her first shoots. She has been with her family since she was 8 weeks old. She is well potty trained and sits or woofs by the back door to go out. She knows several tricks and is trained not to go into the kitchen, back hallway or bedrooms. She chases her tail whenever she is happy and it is adorable. She barks when delivery men come but settles down after. She obeys the commands sit, come, lay down, stay, go to bed, settle down, no kitchen, jump, speak, shake, chase your tail, etc. She does not chew or destroy items that don't belong to her but really enjoys doggie toys and treats. She loves pets but does not go onto furniture. She loves walks but needs training so she doesn't pull on the leash. She hasn't been around many other dogs but had a pet bunny she loved. She loves her baby kitten, and they are best friends. The outside cats, however, will run away from her and of course she is eager to chase them (just to give them a little kiss). She is a 95% indoor dog, only going outside to potty or when her owner is in the backyard gardening. She stays in the front yard if her owner is with her. She has had some challenges with one large teenage boy in her home - they just don't get along and she feels threatened by him, showing food aggression with him alone out of a house of 2 adults and 6 children ages 3-20. she also nipped the cheek (did not cause blood) of the four-year-old she has known since birth when she dropped a piece of food, only one time. Apart from this struggle she is a wonderful dog that would make a fun, loyal and totally devoted pet for a single person or a couple, or for nice teenage kids. She would benefit from leash training, some dog socialization and owners who are knowledgeable and sensitive about her slight food aggression. Her owner loves her very much and is only willing to place her with the right person/family. She will come with her bed, some collars, and her leash.
