About Kya

Kya is a stray dog found near the marshes of Rockport, TX. Name: Kya. Pronounced 'KYE-AH' Location: Rockport, TX Gender: Female Age: Vet guesstimates 1-2 Weight: 35lbs Energy level: High. Especially in the morning! But she does have moments of being very calm. Personality Traits: LOYAL. Protective. Sometimes timid. Funny. Playful. Very sweet. Learns fast. Gives literal hugs with her paws. Wants to cuddle. Soulful. Kya appears to come from some abuse in her short life with scars on her neck. She has been introduced to small children and other dogs. Both with a slow introduction that lasted about five minutes before she was everyone's favorite friend. She has been vetted, spayed and is currently on heartworm medication for a positive test result. Notes: She can be scared and think she needs to defend herself especially at the vet which was a bit traumatizing for her. All she needs is a gentle human soul to support and guide her. She has been microchipped by the vet recently. We are feeding her and providing outdoor shelter along with paying for all the vet costs to treat and spay her. We are only renters so not allowed to have a dog and will be moving back up North soon. All shelters and rescues are at capacity. Please help this poor soul find a forever home. We may be able to transport her in early Dec anywhere on our route from Rockport TX to Southern IN if that is helpful at all.
