About Jasmine

UPDATED 1/5/2024: Jasmine is a Golden Retriever mix who was found as a stray and ended up at a shelter. As you can see she does have black on her tongue which are considered freckles. This is something that many breeds can have including Goldens.�%A0 Jasmine, is about 6 years old, about 66 lbs., up-to-date on her shots and is spayed. As you can see from the pictures, she is a bit overweight and needs to lose some weight.(10-15lbs).�%A0 Jasmine is Heartworm positive and is currently being treated for Heart-worms, which TVGRR will pay for and provide the required medicines.�%A0During this time, she needs to be kept quiet, meaning no strenuous exercise (no chasing frisbees, balls and no racing around). She can go on easy walks and enjoy the outdoors. The new HW treatment protocol is as follows: 1. She completed her 30 days of Doxycycline as of December 27th, 2023 2. She was given her first topical of Moxidectin January 1, 2024 and needs to continue the topical of Moxidectin every month on the 1st. Her next heart-worm test is on August 24th, 2024 and then every 3 months after until test is negative. 3. If the test is still positive after 15 months, then there are 3 options which include: a. Monitoring with radio-graphically every 6-12 months b. Administering Melarsomine to try to kill the remaining worms c. Administering another course of Doxycycline and continuing with the topical Moxidectin. The heart-worms die around 3-4 months after starting therapy and then it takes 4-7 months for the HW antigen test to become negative. TVGRR and our Vet chose this route as it is easier on the dogs' system. Jasmine rides very well in the car. She keeps her kennel clean, however we do not know for sure if she is housebroken.�%A0 She will pull on a leash if she knows where she wants to go.�%A0 Jasmine is good with people and dogs, although she may growl at a dog she doesn't know. Jasmine is a sweet girl and loves tummy rubs.�%A0She is unsure what is happening to her right now so it may take some time to acclimate her to her new home.
