Courtesy post for Roxy Introducing Roxy: A Bundle of Joy Eagerly Awaiting a Loving Home! Meet the delightful Roxy, a spirited and affectionate 1-year old boxer girl who is on the brink of finding her forever family! Roxy's journey began when I, alongside the dedicated efforts of Adopt a Homeless Animal Rescue Inc and other compassionate souls, rescued her from the bustling streets of Baltimore. Roxy embodies the quintessential boxer puppy spirit - brimming with boundless energy and an insatiable curiosity about the world around her. While she's already shown an earnest eagerness to learn, Roxy, like any pup her age, is looking forward to engaging in focused training to refine her exuberant nature. She has a heart of gold and adores my two-year-old son, adjusting her exuberance when in his company. Nevertheless, a bit more training will ensure that her affectionate leaps of joy are channeled into more controlled interactions, especially around little ones. In the realm of doggy companions, Roxy's interactions have revealed a preference for male counterparts over females. As such, I recommend considering her as the sole canine companion or potentially pairing her with a male dog of similar size. Her play style exudes enthusiasm rather than aggression, making her an excellent playmate for an equally spirited friend. A fenced yard would be a wonderful match for her energy levels, though her progress with the 'come' command indicates she's becoming quite the recall expert. It's worth mentioning that Roxy proudly carries her boxer heritage with an undocked tail, a unique feature that adds to her charm. This hasn't posed any issues, and she wears her tail as a testament to her individuality. Her compatibility with cats and other animals remains unknown at present, requiring further exploration. Additionally, Roxy's past experiences have shaped her interactions with men. She warms up cautiously, but once trust is established, her heartwarming personality shines through. Instances like her initial barking at my husband and a dog trainer's husband were brief moments of uncertainty that quickly gave way to genuine acceptance. These instances highlight the need for a patient and experienced owner who can nurture her comfort and confidence. In the near future, Roxy will undergo the spaying procedure, marking an important step towards her journey to finding a loving home. She will be available for adoption through Sanctuary Acres Boxer Rescue, and their website is the portal through which you can express your interest. Although currently located in western Loudoun County, Virginia, don't let distance deter you; reasonable transport options can be arranged for the perfect match. If you're ready to welcome a spirited and endearing boxer into your life, Roxy could be the perfect addition to your family. Her story, resilience, and joyful energy are waiting to light up a forever home. Apply to make Roxy a cherished part of your life and embark on a journey filled with love, laughter, and shared adventures.
