This friendly guy was wandering our neighborhood for a week or so before we coaxed him into our yard so we could try to find his owners and get him indoors on freezing nights. After checking for chips and posting multiple posts in 'lost animal' facebook groups we didn't have any luck finding his owners. At first we were worried that he had ringworm, as he had a circular shaped red, enflamed wound on his inner thigh, this healed in a few days and we're now pretty sure he was burned with a hot socket wrench, so we're not looking for his previous owners anymore. He was obviously abused, as he's very anxious about new people but once he feels safe he opens up into a goofy loverboy. He loves kids and lets my 7 year old and 11 year old lay all over him and he loves it. He does fine with other dogs, he even managed to coax my big-ol-grump St Bernard, who rarely 'plays' to rough-house and frolick in the yard with him. I don't know how he would do with cats, but he's tried to get at our rabbit a couple times until he learned to stay out of the room the rabbit is in, so some small animals are definitely a trigger. He does amazingly well with a kennel. He goes in the kennel with little prompting if we need to leave the house and he sleeps soundly in it all night. He wants to be somebody's good boy. We hoped we could find his owners but that hasn't panned out and unfortunately he's not a good fit for our household due to his interest in the rabbit, also we're in the middle of selling our house and once it's sold we don't really have any place to put him.
