About Buddy

Somebody dumped a fearful pitbull/boxer male dog on our ruralish road last December when it was freezing cold. I noticed this poor boy getting skinnier and skinnier until he was nothing but a skeleton. I put food out for him but could not catch him. He was too afraid of humans. I worked with several people on my road to try to confine him until I could catch him. Well, he got hit by a car. Someone called me, I took him to a vet, he got all stitched up, I brought him home to let him heal. He had broken bones and had tons of lacerations. Turns out he is a wonderful dog. He's super smart, calm, obedient, loyal, cute and a great watch dog. He doesn't bark excessively, comes when called, loves his humans, is great around other dogs and our 3 year old son. I suspect he was abused by a man as he is fearful of men but has warmed up to my husband, cousin and adult sons. He definitely prefers women though. He's actually timid. He is now leash trained, crate trained, house trained, sits, shakes and comes. He is neutered. He's a great companion follows me around everywhere I go. His faults, he does like to chew up shoes if they are left outside. He can NOT be around cats. I posted on fb among my friends trying to find him a home and the rescue organization who paid for his original vet bill but heaven forbid, he is half pit bull and therefore a vicious, horrible brutal dog. He is not! He is such a sweet dog and so smart and intuitive. He needs a family with a secure big yard and no cats. He has NEVER hurt a person and we have tons of 'people traffic' at our house. He wouldn't hurt a person. He has a ferocious bark and looks mean when boogers are around but he is NOT!!! The vet estimates he is 3-4 years old. He is half boxer/half pit. His name is Brown Buddy or Buddy.
