About RADAR

Corgi / Jack Russell
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Name: Radar Age: 8 years Breed: Corgi/Jack Russell Mix (18 pounds) Sex: Male (confirmed neutered) Location: Kane County, IL Radar is an adorable little boy in need of a new home. His owner is now in assisted living and is unable to keep him. Another resident of the facility approached him too quickly and tried to pet him, and he got startled and bit her on her finger, which did break skin. Radar's owner's daughter reached out to us for help in finding Radar a new home. She has tried friends, relatives, co-workers and others, but has not yet had any luck. Vet Info: Radar is confirmed neutered. He is up to date with his vaccines, and is next due for his rabies vaccine on July 24, 2024 and the distemper vaccine in July, 2025. He tested heartworm negative in July of this year and had a physical exam just a few months ago. Radar's owner's daughter tells us he was born completely blind. Dog Info: Radar is an indoor dog with run of the house and is housebroken. He is more used to women than men, and our contact tells us that he may bark at first around people he doesn't know and will need time to warm up, but after he warms up, he's very sweet. He hasn't lived with other animals and she isn't sure how he'll be around other dogs or cats, but again, he may just need time to warm up. He can be possessive with food. Radar's contact feels he adapts well to new situations and writes, 'yes. He was fostered before I got him, my daughter and her dog lived with us for a period of time and now we are living in a new place with other people around.' He also knows the commands, Stay, and Dance! Other than his vision, we're told Radar is healthy and has no issues. Radar's owner wants us to know he's very sweet and loving! It just takes him some time. She writes, 'He is super sweet and loving once he gets familiar, it just takes a minute.' Please email [email protected] if you are interested in Radar. Please note we will ask for a vet reference. **Owner Surrender Disclaimer: These are blind and visually impaired dogs who are living in homes or are with other rescues, but their owners can no longer keep them or their rescues are looking for placement for them.
