About Deuce

Presenting DEUCE, your�%A0atypical Bengal! (This dude is CHILL!) Deuce is a sweet and HANDSOME 6 -year-old purebred Bengal cat who is TICA Registered from the Ukraine. His prior owner purchased him from a cattery once he was retired. We learned about Deuce early this summer due to the fact that he was slated to be euthanized. His owner did not have the funds to address his medical issues. We couldn't let that happen! We whisked him out of SoCal to our most experienced medical foster, who helped him overcome a liver disorder (now resolved). This guy is a LOVER. His foster Mom absolutely adores him. Here's what she has to say about Deuce: -Deuce has the most beautiful golden glitter / rosetted coat and golden eyes -Not a talker but will subtly wake you up for breakfast; soft meow 'Jackpot' treats are ham and string cheese -Will sleep throughout the night without nocturnal exploring -Plays in packing paper and boxes or independently with a ball -During meals, he will eat briefly, then interactive play with you for 1-2 min, return to food bowl, then repeat several times -He has learned to use exercise wheel�%A0 -During play, he will hide, run and ambush prey then run and hide again, then repeat -Mellow and polite; good starter-Bengal if committed to care -Submissive with medical care and medication can be mixed in food; may need occasional NS nose drops administration -Some protest when being held or carried -Not a door dasher -Will come lay beside you, on his terms; enjoys sunbathing -Low to moderate energy level -Responds well to positive reinforcement with praise and petting -Will use water bowl or fountain -Excellent litter box habits -Does not jump on counters or try to open cabinets -Uses scratching posts and lays on furniture you want him to; knows what the word 'no' is -May do well with a cat-friendly cat. Has not been around dogs. -Not overly sensitive to loud noises -Fascinated watching CatTV especially lizards or birds -Most active and ready to play during meal time Deuce has received extensive medical care and we are so relieved that his acute liver condition was determined to be 'acute' rather than 'chronic' (which means it was an 'event' rather than 'disease').
