About Mr. Boy

Domestic Cat / American Shorthair
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Why I am seeking to re-home: Mr. Boy is the sweetest cat anyone could hope to meet. When I adopted him, I was in a much different living situation. This boy needs lots of loving attention that I am unable to give enough of on my own. I am travelling more often for work, and he does not do well when he is left alone for long periods. He was diagnosed with asthma about a year ago and will need medications and care for the rest of his life, which I will be unable to confidently provide. Personality: This precious snuggle bug wants nothing more than to be on your lap or nuzzling your face. The more time he can spend in your arms, the better. He needs to be in a home with at least 2 loving humans, and ideally at least one other cat. He gets very sad and lonely if he does not have someone to 'talk' to. The boy is very, very vocal, and will be overly chatty if he is feeling bored or ignored. He loves wet food and will only eat dry food when he is sure you aren't there to give him what he really wants. He only likes chicken flavors, don't bother with anything fishy! He is 5 years old but still plays very much like a kitten and has tons of energy. He does not run from medication as he seems to know intuitively it will make him feel better. Health: Mr. Boy was diagnosed with feline asthma in May 2022. He also has FHV which he had at the time of his adoption. He is negative for FIV. His asthma symptoms are usually mild and are well managed by his current medication. He should be in a home that can utilize air purifiers, and that does not use a lot of chemicals, perfumes or candles. It is unclear what his particular asthma triggers are. He will also need to remain indoor only, so that he does not get into anything that will activate his asthma and his medications can be monitored and given on time. It is important to be careful with any food changes, as his digestive system is very sensitive. He does very well with (and enjoys) the Royal Canin sensitive digestion line.
