Bonnie has a sad backstory. I 'rescued' her from an elderly family member that was unable to care for her anymore. We weren't really aware of the situation until I went to this family member's house one day and discovered her locked in a cage with her own waste; she'd been getting food and water poured into her bowls from the top of the cage and wasn't let out unless the cage needed cleaned. I took her home that day, gave her several baths, and got her a vet appointment. She has had dental extractions and a cleaning, has been spayed and chipped, and is up to date on vaccines and preventions. My dachshund (surprise, surprise) was bullying her relentlessly, but she got along fine with my 2 cats. She went to live with my parents after it became obvious that she was miserable with my dog. She gets along well with my family's 5 pound elderly miniature poodle and loves my mom. It seems like she has a problem with some strangers, particularly men. She barks at my dad relentlessly, even while taking food from his hand. Adapting this baby to your household will definitely take some work. If you adopt her, she'll take a lot of patience, treats, and cuddles to get acclimated. If you are interested, please call me (leave a message if I don't answer and I will call you back as soon as I can).
